NORMAN, Okla. – University of Oklahoma volleyball fans contributed more than $4,000 to the Jimmy Everest Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at the Children's Hospital at OU Medical Center during the team's Pledge for a Cure event Wednesday night.
It is not too late to donate in honor of head volleyball coach Santiago Restrepo's son, Javier, who passed away from leukemia in July. Fans wishing to make a monetary donation in Javi's memory to the Jimmy Everest Center may do so by mailing a check to the OU Health Sciences Center, c/o Jimmy Everest Center, Attention: Cindy Easley, Room 3B3308, 940 Northeast 13th Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73104.
Donations will be accepted through the end of the season. Health Sciences officials will announce a total donation amount at that time.
