MANHATTAN, Kan. - Junior Bridget Laplante recorded her seventh double-double of the season but the University of Oklahoma volleyball team was unable to pull off an upset Wednesday evening of 15th-ranked Kansas State.

The Sooners (10-13, 6-9 Big 12) dropped the opening set to the Wildcats, 25-20 before winning the second 25-16. Kansas State (21-4, 11-3 Big 12) responded winning the third 25-23 and the fourth 25-20 to take the match 3-1.

Laplante led OU with 14 kills and 17 digs, her first double-double since the Texas Tech match on Sept. 27. The Tomball, Texas native also led the Sooner's with a .297 hitting percentage on the evening.

Freshman Brianne Barker contributed a season-high 24 digs to go along with her 40 assists. The total is the setter's team leading 13th double-double of the year.

A trio of newcomers – freshmen Suzy Boulavsky and Caitlin Higgins and sophomore Sarah Freudenrich – added nine kills each of the Sooners. Freudenrich also added two block solos and two block assists.

Sophomore Chrissy Disarro led OU at the net with three block solos and a career-high seven block assists. The 10 total blocks is one shy of her career-high set at Southern California on Sept. 4. Disarro also added five kills.

Higgins tallied double-digit digs with 13. Senior libero Lacy Barnes had 11 defensive stops on the evening. Barnes also paced the Sooners with three service aces.

OU narrowly out-hit the Wildcats with a .167 hitting percentage to KSU's .166. The Wildcats out-edged OU in blocks, 15-14. Kansas State was led by Rita Liliom's 22 kills. Lauren Mathewson added 27 digs and Megan Farr tallied nine total blocks, including one block solo.

OU continues its road trip on Sunday, facing Missouri at 1 p.m. CT in Columbia. The Sooners host Kansas next Wednesday, Nov. 12, at 7 p.m. in McCasland Field House.
