COLUMBIA, Mo. -- The University of Oklahoma volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to the University of Missouri on Sunday afternoon at the Hearnes Center. The Sooners (10-14, 6-10 Big 12) were swept for the fifth time this season, falling 25-15, 25-17 and 25-20 to the Tigers (12-12, 6-8 Big 12).
The Sooner offense was led by junior Bridget Laplante with nine kills, while freshman Brianne Barker recorded her 14th double-double of the year with 23 assist and 10 digs. Barker also recorded seven kills and had a .412 hitting percentage. Redshirt sophomore Francie Ekwerekwu led the blocking attack for OU with three block assists.
The defense was led by Laplante and senior Lacy Barnes both tallying 14 and 16 digs, respectively. Freshman Danielle Alva recorded a season-high 10 digs.
As a team, Oklahoma hit .120 during the match as opposed to Missouri hitting .300. The Sooners had a total of 59 digs with 37 kills as a whole compared to the Tigers 72 digs and 49 kills.
Junior Lei Wang recorded a double-double for the Tigers with 39 assists and 14 digs, while junior Lauren Nuckolls tallied 19 kills for the match. Missouri sophomore Caitlyn Vann and freshman Priscilla Armendariz recorded 20 and 10 digs, respectively.
The Sooners return to action hosting Kansas on Wednesday, Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. CT at McCasland Field House. OU hosts Faculty and Staff Night and the first 250 fans through the door receive an OU volleyball mouse pad.
