NORMAN, Okla. -- Oklahoma opened its 112th season of intercollegiate football with the first preseason practice of 2006 on Thursday afternoon at the rugby fields in Norman.
 
The Sooners will hold all preseason practices at the fields, located west of the Lloyd Noble Center. Scheduled scrimmages will be conducted on Owen Field at Gaylord Family - Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.
 
Unless otherwise announced, all practices and scrimmages are open to the public.
 
The players will have individual and team photos taken on Friday morning before meeting with the media.

OU will conduct its annual Meet the Sooners Day presented by Alltel beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the practice fields immediately south of Gaylord Family - Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.
 
The second preseason practice at the rugby fields is slated for Friday at 5 p.m. Consult the 2006 OU Preseason Central link above for complete practice dates and times.
