BOSTON -- With the announcement of her inclusion on the Kodak/WBCA All-American Team, Courtney Paris has become the first true freshman in NCAA history to claim consensus All-America honors (ninth freshman to earn Kodak honors).

Paris joined nine other Kodak All-American's at a press conference in Boston, host city of the 2006 Final Four, on Saturday. She is the only true freshman on the squad.

Paris was also named a unanimous first team All-American by ESPN.com.

The unprecedented haul of honors falls in line with her historic season. Paris averaged 21.9 points, 15 rebounds and 3.3 blocks, while also shooting .614 from the field.

She became the first player in NCAA history to collect 700 points, 500 rebounds and 100 block in season. The power post also set the NCAA single and freshman rebounding records, as well as the NCAA freshman single season blocks record.

“I never felt like I was doing extraordinary things as an individual this  season,” said Paris. “Although I do feel like we, as a team, accomplished some extraordinary things. This is tremendous honor and one that I will share with all of my teammates.”

Paris and the other Kodak honorees will be honored during the WBCA Night of Stars at Northeastern University on Saturday evening. She will also attend a banquet on Sunday afternoon before taking in the semifinal games of the Final Four that evening.

Paris will be in Los Angeles next weekend (April 7-9) for the Wooden Award presentation. The Sooner is among five finalists for the Player of the Year award. The winner will be announced on Saturday, April 8, during a national CBS Sports telecast of the “John R. Wooden Award Show Presented by TIAA-CREF” live from The Los Angeles Athletic Club at 1 p.m. CST.

Paris is also a finalist for the Naismith Trophy, which will close its voting today and will announce its winner in Atlanta on April 7.
