WACO, Texas -- Oklahoma's bid for a fourth consecutive victory was halted by Baylor on Sunday, as it fell 2-1 at Betty Lou Mays Soccer Field. The loss drops the Sooners to 6-9-1 overall and 3-5-1 in Big 12 play while the Bears improved to 6-8-1 and 3-3.
After Baylor took an early 1-0 lead with Betsy Kyle's goal at the 1:30 mark, OU junior Shana All found the back of the net on a penalty kick in the seventh minute to tie the game at one apiece. The foul on All in the Baylor box was one of five yellow cards issued to the Bears in the game (22 fouls overall).
All's second goal of the weekend and fourth of the season was not enough as the Sooners allowed the go-ahead goal in the 25th minute off the foot of Baylor's Katie White.

“I thought we looked tired today and didn't match their intensity at the beginning of the game,” said head coach Randy Evans. “After giving up two first half goals that we shouldn't have, it was hard to battle back. We picked up our play in the second half but Baylor did a good job of disrupting our attack throughout the game.”
After scoring 11 goals during the four-game unbeaten streak (3-0-1), the OU offense could not find the back of the net after the penalty kick in the first half on Sunday. Junior Allyson Kucera led OU with three shots while junior goalkeeper Jennifer Nichols (6-9-1) made nine saves in the contest.
Sunday marked the final road game of the regular season for the Sooners, who finished with a 1-4-1 record on the road (0-1 at neutral sites) in 2006. After moving into a tie for fourth place on Friday with a 1-0 win at Texas Tech, the Sooners drop to fifth place with Sunday's loss and remain tied with the Nebraska (8-5-3, 3-4-1).
OU has one game remaining on the Big 12 slate with the Cornhuskers coming to Norman on Sunday, Oct. 22. That game will be played in between two non-conference contests for the Sooners. On Friday, Oct. 20, OU will host Northern Iowa and on Thursday, Oct. 26, Missouri State comes to John Crain Field.
