October 13, 2006 | Soccer
LUBBOCK, Texas -- Shana All provided the Sooners' lone goal and Jennifer Nichols made 12 saves as Oklahoma extended its winning streak to three games with a 1-0 victory over Texas Tech on Friday at R.P. Fuller Stadium.
The Sooners have not suffered a loss in the last four games (3-0-1) and improved to 6-8-1 overall and 3-4-1 in the Big 12 with Friday's win, while Texas Tech dropped to 6-9-1 and 1-5.
OU also extended its winning streak against Texas Tech to six games and owns a 6-4 advantage in the all-time series.

“Road wins are hard to come by in the Big 12 and it was good to get one tonight,” said OU head coach Randy Evans. “We had a good defensive effort and offensively, we did a terrific job of creating scoring opportunities. But we did a poor job of putting the ball in the back of net and I think we could have been ahead by a couple of goals at halftime. After scoring the one goal, we knew we were going to be in for a dog fight in the second half.”
All's third goal of the season came at the 33:41 mark and was assisted by Audri Habibi (fourth of the season). Each of All's goals this season have been game winners and Friday's came off a free kick from 20 yards out.
The assist marked the fourth consecutive game with a point for Habibi. The reigning Big 12 Newcomer of the Week is one of the many Sooners that have sparked the offense during OU's unbeaten streak. Habibi has eight points (2 goals, 4 assists) in the last four games.
Defensively, Nichols was solid with a season-high 12 saves, including three clutch stops in the final five minutes. The shutout was the fifth of the season for the Tulsa, Okla., native who moved into sole possession of second place on OU's all-time shutout list with the 12th of her career.
Despite trailing the shot count, 20-13, the OU offense tallied its 11th goal in the last four games. Seniors Kady Kelly and Savannah Scott led the Sooners with three shots apiece. The Sooners and Red Raiders were tied with five corner kicks apiece.
Oklahoma will look to win its fourth consecutive game on Sunday in Waco, Texas at Baylor (5-8-1, 2-4) at 1 p.m. The Bears hosted Oklahoma State on Friday and suffered a 3-1 loss.
