NORMAN, Okla. The Oklahoma volleyball team suffered a sweep (30-20, 30-21, 30-28) to No. 13 Missouri Saturday afternoon inside the Howard McCasland Field House.  Missouri, OU's eighth ranked opponent to face this season, pushed its record to 18-3 overall and 12-3 in the Big 12.  Oklahoma lost its third straight match and fell to 6-18 on the year and 1-14 in conference action.

Similar to the earlier match this season against Missouri, Oklahoma's errors were costly.  The Sooners tallied 26 attack errors and only hit at a .141 clip while the Tigers, who lead the Big 12 in kills per game, were impressive offensively, recording a .331 hitting percentage in the three-game match.  Oklahoma also hurt itself from behind the line where it posted 10 service errors.

“I was really pleased with our passing and defense tonight,” head coach Santiago Restrepo said.  “However, I was disappointed in our serving tonight.  We did better in the final game, but we need to start out the match serving better.”

Defensively, the Sooners fared well against the Tigers who lead the Big 12 in digs per game.  Missouri tallied 58 digs to OU's 52.  At the net, Oklahoma only recorded one less block than Missouri's team total of 10.

OU sophomore outside hitter Sarah Weiland recorded her first double double of the season with a match-high 14 kills and career-high 14 digs against the Tigers.  In addition, the Big 12's leader in aces per game claimed her 40th ace of the season.

Adding to the OU offense was junior middle blocker Eliane Santos who tallied 13 kills and also led the defensive effort at the net with three block solos and three block assists.

Junior libero Anna Monsen led the back row effort with 15 digs.  Since entering the lineup as the libero, Monsen is averaging 5.06 digs per game.

For Missouri, three Tigers led the way with Jessica Vander Kooi pounding 13 kills on an impressive .385 clip.  MU's Lisa Boyd followed with 12 kills while Nicole Wilson added 10.

The Sooners will be back in action at the Howard McCasland Field House for a match against Kansas this Wednesday, Nov. 9 at 7 p.m.
