Men's Basketball Big 12 Tournament Tickets

DALLAS -- The Big 12 Conference has announced that a limited number of tickets for the 2005 Phillips 66 Big 12 Men's Basketball Tournament, scheduled for March 10-13 in Kansas City's Kemper Arena, will go on sale beginning on Tuesday, February 1.

Fans desiring to order tickets can download a ticket application from SoonerSports.com and mail with a check or money order to the Kemper Arena box office. Fans may also go to the Kemper Arena box office during normal business hours to pick up an application and make payment by check, cash or money order. Credit cards are not accepted.

"The demand by our institutions was at an all-time high but the response from previous ticket holders was lower than expected," said Tim Allen, Big 12 associate commissioner and tournament manager. "That has resulted in availability of tickets to the general public."

It is likely this is the final Big 12 Tournament in the historic building. The four-day, 11-game event began as the Big Eight Tournament in 1977 and has been played in Kemper Arena every year except 2003 and 2004 when it was held at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. The 2006 event will return to Dallas and the 2007 tournament will be at the Ford Center in Oklahoma City. A new basketball facility is currently under construction in downtown Kansas City.

"The final tournament in Kemper will be historic and competitive," Allen said. "I think everyone agrees that from top to bottom the Big 12 is the strongest it has ever been and we're looking forward to some exciting games."

Tickets for the event are $210 each and there is a $10 per order handling fee. Patrons are limited to a maximum of six tickets per application. Allen said applications will be accepted until the tournament is sold out on a first-come, first-served basis.
