OU Fans Encouraged To Purchase NCAA Regional Tickets Now

NORMAN, Okla. -- Sooner fans are strongly encouraged  to purchase their 2004 NCAA Midwest Regional tickets this week. The 11th-ranked Oklahoma women's basketball team (23-8) was selected as the third seed in the Midwest Region and will face 14th seed Marist (20-10) on Saturday, March 20, at 7 p.m. MST (8 p.m. CST) on ESPN2 inside the Wells Fargo Arena in Tempe, Ariz.

Stanford (24-6), a sixth seed, will face 11th seed Missouri (17-12) following OU's game with the winners advancing to Monday's second round game. 

“We want every seat to be filled with Sooner fans,” said OU head coach Sherri Coale about the Sooners' possible return to the Lloyd Noble Center for the Midwest Regional. “This regional is extremely important to our program and the University and we're asking for your help in selling out the Lloyd Noble Center once again. The winner of this regional advances to the NCAA Final Four, what a tremendous opportunity.”

There are nearly 3,500 tickets sold for the Midwest Regional but as teams advance fewer tickets will be available for Sooner fans. Several teams within the Midwest Regional rank among the nation's top 50 in attendance, including  Tennessee (26-3) and New Mexico (23-7) which ranks in the top 4. Baylor (24-8), Vanderbilt (24-7), DePaul (22-6) and Rutgers (21-11) also rank in the top 50. OU ranks 15th, the third best attendance figure (5,691 fans per game) of teams in the Midwest Region.

College basketball's elite teams will compete in the “Sweet 16” and “Elite Eight” games on the Lloyd Noble Center Court with the winner advancing to the Women's Final Four in New Orleans. Now is the time to get your reserved seat for some of the best collegiate women's basketball action in the nation.
