Here we go...

Jammal, I have been around to see you play from day one. At this point in your football career, what is the biggest lesson you have learned from your experiences?
- Big Earl from Lawton, Okla.

I think the biggest lesson is to work hard. Learn how not to be selfish. All the positive things that come from playing the game of football have impacted me. I've learned how to be coachable -- things like that. But the most important thing is I've learned to play hard.  Sometimes in high school I was able to get away with not playing as hard as I should have. That won't cut it in college ball or beyond.

Jammal, I hear how practices for football are hard and players can get really mad at the coaches and the game itself. Have you ever been frustrated enough to want to quit?
- Alex from Norman, Okla.

Yes, playing college football is mentally and physically tough. The coaches coach hard -- but in the end, that's what you want because that's going to make you better. I look forward to the coaches coaching me hard and to yell at me because I know when they yell, that they are yelling at me because they care. Sometimes I get upset but in the end I realize they're just trying to make me a better player.

Jammal - can you give me some advice to get my team (Idabel Braves - 8th Grade) motivated before games?  I read a few stories in your journal and that helped me. My team is not as good as some of the teams we play but we win a few games. We're not like the Sooners -- we're more like Texas Tech: when we win, it's not by much and when we lose, we lose big-time.
- Zachary from Idabel, Okla.

Alright Zachary, here's what I got.  Just before the game, gather your team up and tell them this: You guys know all the hard work you've put in, running, lifting weights -- getting prepared for this season. You're going to do whatever it takes to do your part to win the game. Ask them: will they do their part? Tell them to go out and just have fun -- it's a fun game. When you win, it's even more fun.

Have you ever been to New Orleans?  What do you think the team will get to do for fun?
- Kate from Tyler, Texas

No, I've never been to New Orleans. I think we'll have a good time. I'm not really much of a big party person. I'll find a way to have some fun -- maybe do a little sightseeing and do some shopping.  I do like to shop. Maybe get me some fresh gear. Just hang out.

What challenges does LSU's defensive line present and how do you plan to counter them?
- Bhala from Norman, Okla.

I know they have a big line. They look strong and remind me a little bit of Texas. But, we practice against a good line all year. It should be a big challenge but that's why you play the game. It should be a great game and I'm looking forward to it.

Jammal, the Tigers are going to be tough in their own backyard. Do you think that you'll approach this game any differently than the Big 12 championship game?
- Alan from Chicago, Ill.

We will approach this game differently -- especially considering we got beat in Kansas City. Hopefully, we'll come to the game more focused.  It kind of reminds me of the 2000 National Championship year when we played Florida State down in Miami.  That was in their backyard too.  So, we've had experience playing bowl games in areas that are supposed to be the opponent's backyard.  I have no doubt we'll have plenty of Sooner fans backing us up down in the Superdome.
