Antonio Perkins Named Sooner of the Month

Antonio Perkins,a standout defensive back/punt returner for the top-ranked Oklahoma Sooner football team, has been chosen as the recipient of the Athletic Student Life Sooner of the Month Award for the month of October.
This award is given each month to a student-athlete who demonstrates performance on and off the field, exemplary character and academic achievement.
Perkins, a junior from Lawton, Oklahoma is a Sociology/Criminology major.
This season for Perkins has been a special one. He has tied the NCAA record for punt returns for touchdowns in a career (seven) as well as tying the single season mark for punt returns for touchdowns (four). He has been named the Big 12 Conference Special Teams Player of the Week twice this season.
He has also enjoyed a remarkable year in the classroom with a 3.5 GPA for the 2002-2003 school year. Antonio has been described by his counselor and coaches as soft spoken and concerned for others.
The Athletic Student Life proudly congratulates Antonio Perkins for his achievements and looks for more from him in the near future.
