NORMAN, Okla. - In its only conference match of the week, the University of Oklahoma volleyball team will travel to Columbia, Mo., to take on Missouri (9-2, 1-2 Big 12) on Saturday, Sept. 29. Match time is set for 7 p.m. at the Hearnes Center.
The Sooners (2-10, 1-1 Big 12) lead the all-time series 32-16, with their last victory coming on Nov. 3, 1999. The Tigers have swept OU in the last two meetings.
Oklahoma dropped a match earlier this week to Oral Roberts, 3-0, in Tulsa. In that match sophomore Logan Pierce and junior Lindsay Hoyt surpassed the century mark in kills and digs with 103 (2.71 kpg) and 102 digs (2.68 dpg), respectively, to lead the team.
The Tigers, coming off a 3-2 loss to Kansas State on Wednesday night, are lead by Christi Myers, who is hitting a team-high .336 and Lisa Morris, who is averaging 4.43 kills per game (164 total). Defensively, Naaron Branson has hustled for 122 digs (3.21 dpg) while Myers has reached for a team-high 56 blocks (1.40 bpg).
The Sooners' next match is at home against No. 23 Texas (8-2, 3-0). First serve is set for 7 p.m. at the Howard McCasland Field House (previously known as the OU Field House).
