NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma volleyball team lost 30-17, 30-21, 30-15 to state foe Oral Roberts Wednesday night inside the Cooper Aerobics Center in Tulsa. The Sooners fell to 2-10 on the season while ORU improved to 7-3.
Sophomore Logan Pierce paced OU with 10 kills on 23 attempts while only committing three errors for a team-high .304 hitting percentage. Freshman Candice Woods followed with five kills and a team-best three blocks. Junior Lindsay Hoyt topped the team in digs with seven and Jessica Barney had a team-high 20 assists.
ORU dominated the match with a .356 hitting efficiency to OU's .057. The Golden Eagles landed 49 kills, had 36 digs and seven service aces. Oklahoma ended action with 25 kills, 21 digs and two aces.
Oklahoma returns to Big 12 Conference action Saturday, Sept. 29 against Missouri in Columbia, Mo. Match time is set for 7 p.m.
