NORMAN, Okla. - In its ninth non-conference match of the season, the University of Oklahoma volleyball team (2-9, 1-1 Big 12) will face the Golden Eagles of Oral Roberts on Wednesday, Sept. 26, in the Cooper Aerobics Center for a 7 p.m. match.
This will be the 42nd meeting of the two teams and the first since November 1995. ORU (6-3, 2-0 Mid-Continent) leads the all-time series 24-17, with OU's last win coming on Sept. 16, 1994.
Leading the Golden Eagles' offense are April Syko with 108 kills (3.18 kpg) and Patricia Menezes with a team-high .354 hitting percentage. Defensively, Menezes is tops in digs with 86 (2.53 dpg) while Celeste Jones has 23 blocks (0.70 bpg).
Following Wednesday night's match the Sooners return to Big 12 action in Columbia, Mo., when they take on Missouri on Sept. 29 at 7 p.m. The Tigers are now 9-1 overall and 1-1 in the Big 12 after a 3-1 victory over Southeast Missouri State Monday night.
