NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma volleyball team (2-25, 1-13 Big 12) will take on Texas Tech (15-10, 6-8 Big 12) on Saturday, Nov. 10. Match time is set for 7 p.m. at the United Spirit Arena.
Texas Tech won the first match of the season series, 3-0, on Oct. 13 in Norman, and leads the all-time series 28-11, dating back to 1976. The Sooners last defeated the Red Raiders, 3-0, on Nov. 28, 1997, in Norman.
Sophomore Logan Pierce leads Oklahoma, averaging 3.20 kills and 2.47 digs per game. Freshman Candice Woods holds a team-best .201 hitting percentage, while leading the team in blocks with 0.81 bpg. Junior Jessica Barney is dishing out a team-high 9.48 assists per game and 0.40 service aces per game.
Texas Tech, coming off wins over New Mexico State (3-1) and Texas-El Paso (3-1), is being led by Kelly Johnson's 3.69 kills per game, Ann Romjue's 3.36 digs per game and Stacey Poole's .286 hitting clip. Kate Jury-Shannon holds a team-best 0.78 blocks per game, while Skydra Orzen is averaging a Big 12-best 14.26 assists per game.
The Sooners are next in action at home against No. 14 Texas A&M on Monday, Nov. 12, and No. 2 Nebraska on Wednesday, Nov. 14. Match time with both the Aggies and Huskers is set for 7 p.m. at the Howard McCasland Field House.
