NORMAN, Okla. - In its final match of the week, the University of Oklahoma volleyball team (2-29, 1-17 Big 12) dropped a match to No. 25 Colorado (17-9, 12-6 Big 12) via scores of 30-20, 30-22 and 30-25.
The Sooners were led by freshman Candice Woods at the net with a career and match-high nine blocks (1BS, 8BA). Sophomore Logan Pierce and junior Denise Griffin hustled for a team-best nine digs each. Freshman Gretchen French hit a team-high .667 with two kills on three attempts and no errors. Pierce and sophomore Christina Barlow led the offense with eight kills a piece.
The Buffs outhit the Sooners, .213 to .032, while Oklahoma outblocked CU, 13 to 12. Sara Villwock led the Colorado offense with 10 kills, while Josee Roberg hit a team best .429 with seven kills on 15 attempts and one error. Meghan Barkman and Villwock recorded 13 and 10 digs each, respectively, to lead the Buffs, while Barkman posted a team-high seven blocks.
The Sooners play their last home match of the season against Iowa State on Wednesday, Nov. 21. Match time is set for 7 p.m. at the Howard McCasland Field House.
