NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma volleyball team (2-18, 1-9 Big 12) will play host to Missouri and Colorado on Oct. 27 and Oct. 28, respectively, at the Howard McCasland Field House. The Sooners play MU (16-6, 6-6 Big 12) at 7 p.m. Saturday and face No. 24 Colorado (11-7, 6-4 Big 12) at 2 p.m. Sunday. Both matches will be broadcast by OU's campus radio station, The Wire, and can also be seen on Cox Cable Channel 4.
Leading the Sooners into this weekend's action are sophomore Logan Pierce and freshman Candice Woods. After a career-high 20 kills against Kansas earlier this week, Pierce has accumulated a team-best 206 kills (3.07 kpg). Woods is the team leader in hitting efficiency (.213) and blocks with 53 (0.79 bpg). Pierce and junior Lindsay Hoyt are the Sooners top two in digs with 159 (2.37 dpg) and 162 (2.42 dpg), respectively.
Missouri, coming off a 3-1 loss to No. 2 Nebraska on Wednesday, is led by Lisa Morris, who is averaging 4.07 kills per game. Naaron Branson has posted a team-best 258 digs (3.27 dpg), while Christi Myers is leading the Tigers at the net with 104 blocks (1.28 bpg).
Colorado will be coming off a match with Iowa State on Saturday night in Ames, Iowa, before facing the Sooners at 2 p.m. Sunday. Monique Gerlach is leading the Buffaloes with 227 kills (3.49 kpg), while Meghan Barkman is hitting a team-best .372. Elizabeth Gower is averaging 12.49 assists per game, and Sonja Russell tops the team with 184 digs (3.23 dpg).
