NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma volleyball team (2-14, 1-5 Big 12) was defeated by Baylor (11-4, 3-4 Big 12) 3-0 tonight in Waco, Texas. The Sooners lost by scores of 30-25, 30-20 and 30-21.
Junior Lindsay Hoyt led the Sooners with 12 kills while junior Denise Griffin was tops in digs with 10. Freshman Candice Woods had a team-best .333 hitting efficiency (6K, 2E, 12TA) and three blocks. Junior Jessica Barney posted match-high and tied a career-high four service aces.
Baylor held Oklahoma to a .142 hitting percentage while posting a .351 hitting clip. The Bears' Stevie Nicholas recorded a match-high 18 kills, hitting .295, while setter Dana Chuha posted five kills, 39 assists and a team-high 12 digs.
The Sooners are next in action at home against Texas Tech on Saturday, Oct. 13. Match time is set for 7 p.m.at the Howard McCasland Field House.
