  • Ranked 19th in the AP poll and 16th in the ESPN/USA Today version, Oklahoma improved to 7-1 with its 103-49 victory over Coppin State (now 4-4). It was Kelvin Sampson's 200th game as OU head coach.
  • The Sooners scored the game's first 15 points and held Coppin State scoreless until the 15:02 mark when Larry Tucker converted two free throws. Tucker was also responsible for the Eagles' first field goal with 14:17 left in the first half.
  • OU's 54-point margin of victory was its largest under seventh-year head coach Kelvin Sampson. The previous mark was 53 last year versus Mount St. Mary's in the All-College Tournament (94-41).
