Running back and wide receiver for the Sooners from 1998 to 2001, Josh Norman was a key member of Oklahoma's 2000 national championship team and helped transform OU into one of the country's most successful programs under head coach Bob Stoops. After his time at OU, Norman spent four seasons in the NFL and had a successful coaching career at schools across Oklahoma and Texas. In fact, he was named the NCSAA National Coach of the Year in 2009. He also spent time in the music production industry, producing albums for local Christian artists. In 2022, Coach Venables presented Norman with the opportunity to return to his alma mater as a director for SOUL Mission. Having led similar programs during his own coaching career, Norman felt passionately about joining this effort and understood the impact this kind of program could have on student-athletes and surrounding communities. He accepted the position and returned to Norman with his wife Jessica.
