April 16, 2026 | Rowing
NORMAN – The No. 24 Oklahoma rowing team travels to Orlando, Fla., to compete in the inaugural Orlando Invitational Regatta at Lake Pickett on April 17-18, hosted by UCF.
The Sooners will compete against seven other teams, including five programs currently ranked in the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) poll. No. 11 UCF, No. 13 Alabama, No. 14 Duke, No. 15 Miami and No. 19 Penn headline the field, while Clemson and SMU round out the competitive two-day regatta.
Friday marks the start of Oklahoma's third regatta of the season following a strong showing at the Ohio State Spring Regatta on March 27. The Sooners recorded three race wins and eight top-three finishes on Griggs Reservoir in Columbus, Ohio.
Following the meet, Hanna Sättler was named Southeastern Conference Co-Freshman of the Week after competing in Oklahoma's First Varsity Eight (1V8+). A native of Kusterdingen, Germany, Sättler helped the Sooners to a first-place finish in the morning session with a time of 6:00.7, defeating No. 11 Michigan and Notre Dame.
Oklahoma's 1V8+ also placed second in the afternoon session, clocking a 6:19.6 against No. 21 Ohio State and Notre Dame. Rowing in the five seat, Sättler played a key role in a marquee win over a ranked Michigan crew while contributing to two strong finishes on the day.
