Emerling’s Pinch-Hit Grand Slam Keys Sweep at Ole Miss

March 23, 2026 | Softball

OXFORD, Miss. Isabela Emerling hammered a pinch-hit grand slam in the top of the sixth inning to fuel No. 4 Oklahoma's 10th comeback win of the season in a 5-2 victory at (RV) Ole Miss (20-14, 0-9 SEC) Monday, March 23. The Sooners (32-2, 6-0 SEC) secured their second consecutive series sweep and 21st victory in a row with the triumph.

Sydney Berzon made her first start in league play, not allowing an earned run in 4.1 innings. Audrey Lowry came in from the pen and fanned five in 2.2 innings to tally her 15th win of the season.

OU 5, Ole Miss 2
Ole Miss took a 2-0 lead in the second with the help of a pair of errors and three Ole Miss hits. Ella Parker ended the threat with a perfect throw to home on a single to right field as Kendall Wells made the pick and tag to cut down the Rebels' Ryan Starr.

Kendall Wells launched her third home run of the series and nation-leading 25th of the season, a solo shot 277 feet to right field to get OU on the board in the fourth inning.

Berzon turned in a scoreless fourth and notched the first out of the fifth before Lowry entered and retired the next two batters.

Down 2-1, Ella Parker singled to right to start the sixth and Gabbie Garcia put down a one-out bunt single. Kai Minor grounded to Ole Miss first baseman Persy Llamas, but Llamas bobbled the chopper and Minor beat her to the bag. One pitch later Emerling launched a pinch-hit grand slam to left.

Ole Miss threatened, loading the bags in the sixth, but Lowry fanned the side and retired Ole Miss in the seventh for the win.
