Moldauer in Sixth, Six Sooners Advance After Day 1 at U.S. Championships

PHOENIX – Oklahoma men's gymnastics alumnus Yul Moldauer sits in first place on parallel bars and sixth in the all-around after the first day of competition at the 2026 Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships at the Mortgage Matchup Center.

Moldauer posted an 81.773 in the all-around and recorded top-10 finishes on three events. He leads the field on parallel bars with a 14.868 andĀ finished sixth on still rings (14.205) and floor exercise (13.700). He also scored a 13.750 on vault, a 12.900 on horizontal bar and a 12.350 on pommel horse.

Sophomore Nathan Roman posted a 79.805 and sits 10th in the all-around after Day 1. He recorded a pair of seventh-place finishes on parallel bars (14.305) and high bar (13.400).

Freshman Jesse Hanny is 21st (74.250), alumnus Fuzzy Benas is 22nd (74.100), sophomore Alex Noel is 25th (73.650), sophomore Sasha Bogonosiuk is 29th (70.850) and freshman Hunter Simpson is 34th (68.850).

Benas, Bogonosiuk, Hanny, Moldauer, Noel and Roman advance to Saturday's competition, which begins at 6:30 p.m. CT on NBCSN and Peacock. All-around and individual event winners, as well as the U.S. national team selections, will be determined based on combined scores from the Day 1 and Day 2 competitions.

Freshman Dante Reive's night ended after suffering an injury during his floor exercise routine.
