THE MEET
No. 1Ā Oklahoma plays host to No. 3 Nebraska at McCasland Field House on Saturday. The meet is set to begin with introductions at 5:45 p.m. and the first routine at 6 p.m. Doors open at 4:45 p.m., and admission is free.Ā
PROMOTIONS
⢠Saturday's meet is Educator Appreciation and Greek Organizations Night, featuring an OU retro hat giveaway.
⢠It is a $2 takeover meet, featuring $2 beer, soda and popcorn.
⢠All educators that attend the meet will be recognized and there will be a post-meet autograph session.
⢠There will also be a t-shirt toss, socks for sticks and an ice cream giveaway for the loudest fan of the meet.Ā
⢠Admission to all Oklahoma men's gymnastics home meets during the 2026 season is free.

⢠Following Saturday's meet, Oklahoma hosts California on Saturday, March 7, in its home finale at 5:45 p.m. (first routine at 6 p.m.). The Sooners will celebrate their seniors in a ceremony following the meet
⢠Oklahoma's only defeat inside McCasland Field House since the 2007 season was in the 2024 MPSF Championship when OU finished second to Stanford. Oklahoma is unbeaten against its last 77 regular season opponents, encompassing 65 consecutive regular season meets, inside McCasland Field House, dating back to the 2007 season. The streak began on March 17, 2007, with a victory over Iowa. OU's last regular-season loss in the field house was March 3, 2007, against Ohio State. Oklahoma and Stanford also tied in a dual meet in McCasland Field House during the 2021 season.
⢠Oklahoma is one of only two programs nationally to score at least 320.000 in each of its meets so far this season (the other is No. 1 Stanford). Michigan is the only other program to score 320.000 or higher in a meet this season (once, in OU's 321.850 to 320.650 win in Ann Arbor on Jan. 24).
⢠The Sooners posted the nation's highest team score in a meet with their 328.650 against Ohio State and Air Force on Feb. 7 at McCasland Field House. It is 2.200 points higher than the next highest score this season (326.450 by Stanford).
⢠Redshirt senior Fuzzy Benas was named the CGA national Gymnast of the Week and MPSF conference Gymnast of the Week following his performance in OU's win over Ohio State and Air Force. Benas claimed the high bar and floor exercise titles, posting a 13.950 and a 13.850 respectively. Redshirt freshman Colby Aranda won CGA national Rookie of the Week and MPSF conference Freshman of the Week following his performance in OU's win over Ohio State and Air Force, where he set a career high on pommel horse with a 14.500. Junior Tyler Flores also won MPSF conference Specialist of the Week after his performance in OU's win over Ohio State and Air Force where he set a career-high on vault with a 14.550, scored a 13.900 on pommel horse and a 13.200 on p-bars.
⢠Freshman Sasha Bogonosiuk and Nathan Roman were named to the U.S. Senior Development Team following their performances at 2026 Winter Cup. Bogonosiuk won silver on vault with his 13.575 average. Benas also competed at Winter Cup for the fourth time.
⢠Mark Williams is in his 27th season as Oklahoma head coach. He has led the Sooners to 620 victories (620-61-1 [.909]), nine national championships and 20 MPSF conference titles since his first season in 2000.
⢠Senior Kelton Christiansen and fifth-year senior Brigham Frentheway were selected as senior captains for the 2026 season as voted by their teammates.
NATIONAL RANKINGS NOTES
⢠Oklahoma is No. 1 in the Week 7 rankings with an average team score of 323.613 following Winter Cup. The Sooners rank ahead of No. 2 Stanford (322.433), while No. 3 Nebraska (316.700), No. 4 Michigan (316.420) and No. 5 Ohio State (315.838) round out the top five. Rankings are based on the average of a team's scores this season
⢠OU holds first place on pommel horse (54.813) and high bar (53.200). The Sooners rank second on floor exercise (53.900), parallel bars (53.388) and vault (55.513), and sit third on still rings (52.800).
⢠Oklahoma has two gymnasts ranked No. 1 on individual events, with sophomore Colby Aranda ranked at the top on pommel horse (14.183) and junior Tyler Flores on vault (14.400).
⢠Freshman Sasha Bogonosiuk is ranked sixth on floor exercise (13.712), redshirt sophomore Arthur Ballon ranks seventh (13.700) and redshirt senior Fuzzy Benas is ninth (13.612). Senior Ignacio Yockers sits second on pommel horse (14.088).
⢠Sophomore Francisco Velez Belendez ranks fourth on still rings (13.800), and junior Tas Hajdu is eighth (13.617). Bogonosiuk is ranked fifth on vault (14.175), freshman Nathan Roman is ranked third on parallel bars (14.033), while Benas is tied for ninth (13.450).
⢠Redshirt junior Brandon Zepeda-Orth ranks second on high bar (13.775), senior Kelton Christiansen is third (13.750) and Benas sits eighth (13.600). Bogonosiuk ranks ninth in the all-around (77.675).
LAST TIME OUT
⢠Redshirt senior Fuzzy Benas won two event titles as the No. 2 Oklahoma men's gymnastics team claimed five individual titles on its way to a team total of 328.650 ā the highest score in the nation this season ā and victories over No. 3 Ohio State (317.700) and No. 13 Air Force (303.050) in front of a crowd of 1,862 on Cleveland and Alumni Night.
⢠Benas won the floor exercise title with a 13.850 and the high bar title with his stuck 13.950. Sophomore Colby Aranda won the pommel horse title with a career-high 14.500, sophomore Francisco Velez Belendez claimed the still rings title with a 13.950 and junior Tyler Flores and freshman Sasha Bogonosiuk shared the vault title, both sticking their landings to score 14.550.
⢠OU won five team events, posting a 54.750 on floor exercise, 56.150 on pommel horse, 54.150 on still rings, 53.050 on parallel bars and 54.100 on high bar. The Sooners earned second place on vault, scoring a 56.450, just .200 behind Ohio State. Oklahoma's scores on floor, pommel horse, rings, vault and high bar were all team highs this season.
HISTORY AND TRADITION
⢠Oklahoma has won 12 national championships (1977, '78, '91, 2002, '03, '05, '06, '08, '15, '16, '17, '18), tied for most in NCAA history (tied with Penn State), including nine national titles since 2000. The Sooners have finished first or second in 19 of the last 23 NCAA Championships, and has reached 25 consecutive NCAA finals, or every championship held since 2000 (does not count the 2020 championship canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic). OU has finished among the top 3 in 23 of the last 24 NCAA Championships held, dating back to the 2001 season.
⢠Mark Williams has led Oklahoma to nine national titles over the course of his 26 seasons as head coach of the Sooners. OU won an NCAA championship held in Norman three times: 2002, 2006 and 2015.
⢠The Sooners last won an NCAA championship in 2018 in Chicago, Ill., capping a run of four consecutive national titles (2015-18), then claimed second place in three straight championships: 2019, '21 and '22.
