OU Hosts No. 15 Auburn Friday

February 26, 2026 | Women's Gymnastics

NORMAN — The No. 1 Oklahoma women's gymnastics team will host No. 15 Auburn on Friday at 6:30 p.m. CT. Bart Connor and Kennedy Baker will have the call on SEC Network.

With a win in at least one their last two regular season SEC meets against Auburn or Arkansas, Oklahoma will clinch the SEC Regular Season title outright. This is the Tigers' first visit to Norman since 2008, when OU beat Auburn 196.750-195.900.

SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
No. 15 Auburn: The Tigers enter Friday's meet as the No. 15 team in the nation, coming off a season high score of 197.250 at home in a loss against No. 3 Alabama. Auburn posted its best bars score of the year (49.225), with the help of Julianne Huff's career-high 39.525 in the all-around.

QUICK FLIPS
• The Sooners are the only SEC team to have multiple athletes earn a perfect 10 this season (Mackenzie Estep (VT) and Addison Fatta (VT)).
• Beam has consistently been one of OU's strongest events. That's reflected by the fact the Sooners' season high of 49.700 on Feb. 13 is only the 10th-highest score on the event in program history.
• OU has faced seven teams that were ranked in the top five at the time of competition this season and is 6-0-1 in those meetings.
• Oklahoma is the only team to score a 49.600-plus at least once on all four events this season.
• Senior Faith Torrez is one of the most consistent beam workers in the country through her career, holding a 98.2% hit rate (55 of 56). Half (28 of 56) of her routines have resulted in a 9.95-plus score.
• OU currently owns five of the 10 scores above 198 this season, with the next highest team being LSU with two.

WEEKEND REWIND
In front of a program-record crowd of 10,234 fans, No. 1 Oklahoma topped No. 2 LSU 198.125-197.925 inside the Lloyd Noble Center last Friday. Lily Pederson earned a career-high 39.650 in the all-around, her first career mark over 39.600. Mackenzie Estep also notched a career best with a 39.450. Addison Fatta added a 39.600 of her own, her fifth score of 39.600 or higher this season.

SISTER SISTER
Juniors Aspen Lenczner and Caitlin Smith and freshman Kamila Pawlak share a rare bond – sibling rivalries at the Division I level. Each has a sister competing in NCAA gymnastics, and this season they all go head-to-head. Pawlak and Lenczner faced their older sisters on Feb. 6 and 8, as Natalia Pawlak attends Alabama and Gigi Lenczner attends Arizona. Smith will see her sister, Rebekah, this Friday when Auburn comes to Norman.

STEPPING UP AND SHOWING OUT
With the absence of an incredible senior class, the OU freshmen have stepped up to fill the void. The trio of Mackenzie Estep, Ella Murphy and Kamila Pawlak account for nearly 30 percent of OU's routines this season. In 28 competition routines, Estep has recorded 14 scores of 9.90 or higher, including a career-high 10.0 on vault. Murphy has tallied 12 marks of 9.9- plus with a career best 9.95 on beam. Pawlak has been in every floor lineup, posting a career-high 9.95 twice this season and four marks over 9.90 in eight routines. Estep and Murphy have won four of the eight SEC Freshman of the Week honors this season.

THE RANKINGS ARE IN
For the fifth week in a row, the Sooners were the No. 1 team in the country, joined in the top five by three other SEC opponents: No. 2 LSU (197.735), No. 3 Alabama (197.570), and No. 4 Florida (197.480). UCLA is No. 5 with a 197.450 NQS. As a team, OU is No. 1 on vault (49.546) and beam (49.525), and No. 4 on bars (49.404) and floor (49.463).

LOOKING AHEAD
The Sooners head to Arkansas for the final SEC regular season meet of the year on Friday, March 6 before returning home to host TWU for senior day Sunday, March 8.
