EL PASO, Texas — Using innings of eight runs, 12 runs and 14 runs, No. 4 OU Softball (8-1) defeated UTEP (6-6), 34-0, Sunday, Feb. 15. The Sooners finished one run shy of tying the program single game record for runs scored.
Tia Milloy and
Gabbie Garcia hit grand slams in the same inning, while
Allyssa Parker homered twice and
Kasidi Pickering doubled three times, tying a program record.
Chaney Helton hit her first homer as a Sooner and
Abby Dayton hit an inside-the-park home run.
The Sooners had 51 plate appearances, notching 25 hits and only leaving three runners on base while drawing 10 walks.

The first OU batters of the game reached base, seven of which were singles, as OU scored eight runs on nine hits in the first frame.
The Sooners sent 16 batters to the plate in the third inning, scoring 12 runs, eight of which came on Garcia and Milloy's grand slams. Parker hit a towering three-run home run to center and Pickering added an RBI double to complete the scoring.
All but two of OU's 14 runs came with two outs in the fifth inning, with
Allyssa Parker's second home run of the game providing the only runs without two outs. Oklahoma worked six walks, while Dayton hit an inside-the-park three-run homer and Helton hit a solo shot, the first of her career.
In the circle Lowry spun three scoreless,
Sydney Berzon fanned the side in the fourth and
Berkley Zache closed the game with a scoreless frame.
