Ailana Agbayani broke the game open with a grand slam and later added the eventual game-winning hit on an RBI double to left in the fifth as No. 4/3 Oklahoma Softball (40-5, 14-5 SEC) defeated No. 3/2 Texas (42-7, 13-6 SEC), 7-6, in the series opener Friday, April 25. The Sooners won in front of a Love's Field single game attendance record, 4,587 fans.
Sam Landry went the distance in the circle for OU, working her 13th complete game of the year. She stranded two in the top of the seventh to pick up her 16th win of the season.
Agbayani tied a career high with five RBIs, while
Nelly McEnroe-Marinas produced her fourth three-hit game of the season.

OU took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second. McEnroe-Marinas doubled and eventually came around to score on an RBI groundout from
Isabela Emerling.
The Sooners broke things open with a five-run third inning that included a solo home run to center from
Gabbie Garcia and a grand slam to left from Agbayani. Agbayani's home run was her first home run since hitting one at Baylor Feb. 16.
The Longhorns got two back with a solo home run from Mia Scott and an RBI single from Joley Mitchell. Texas cut into its deficit with three more two-out runs in the fifth on three hits and an error.
OU punched back and scored the eventual game-winning run in the fifth. McEnroe-Marinas doubled to right center and scored two batters later when Agbayani roped a double to the wall in left, making it 7-5 Sooners.
After a scoreless sixth, Oklahoma held a 7-5 lead heading into the final frame. Landry worked a groundout on pinch hitter Vanessa Quiroga, but Ashton Maloney singled and Kayden Henry reached on an error. Landry worked a groundout on Mia Scott before intentionally walking Reese Atwood. After a wild pitch during the at-bat against Joley Mitchell, Landry got her to fly out to
Hannah Coor.
