McEnroe-Marinas Homers for 11th Time in SEC Play, Landry Honored With AUSL Golden Ticket
NORMAN — Kierston Deal was sharp all night long, scattering four hits while fanning three in a complete game effort as No. 4/3 Oklahoma (41-5, 15-5 SEC) defeated No. 3/2 Texas (42-8, 13-7 SEC), 7-2, Saturday, April 26.
Abigale Dayton drove in a season high three runs, Nelly McEnroe-Marinas homered and drove in two and Deal earned her second complete game effort against a top-10 team on the season.
Prior to the game, Sam Landry was also honored by the Athletes Unlimited Softball League with an AUSL Golden Ticket to represent her selection into the AUSL.
OU 7, Texas 2
Both pitchers settled in early, dealing zeros in the first and second frame until Ella Parker took a high delivery from Citlaly Gutierrez into the upper deck of the bleachers in the bottom of the third inning.
Deal dealt another scoreless inning before the Sooners tacked on two more in the fourth frame. After Ailana Agbayani singled, Dayton doubled her home all the way from first with a gapper to right center. Kasidi Pickering eventually plated Dayton with a sac fly later for a 3-0 OU lead.

McEnroe-Marinas put a final exclamation point on OU's scoring with a two-run home run to left in the bottom of the sixth, making it 7-0.
