COLUMBIA, Mo. — No. 1 Softball (29-1, 8-1 SEC) scored five unanswered runs and
Sam Landry spun her second complete game of the weekend as the Sooners clinched the series at Missouri (18-15, 1-5 SEC) with a 5-1 win Sunday, March 23.
Nelly McEnroe-Marinas homered for the third consecutive game and
Kasidi Pickering hit the game-winning two-run home run in the sixth. Landry won her ninth game and notched her second win of the weekend as OU outscored the Tigers, 14-4, over the three games.
Oklahoma 5, Missouri 1
Landry fanned five batters through two innings until Missouri broke a scoreless tie with a Julia Crenshaw solo home run. Landry would retire 14 of the next 16 batters she faced as OU's offense got rolling in the second half of the ball game.
McEnroe-Marinas evened the game up with her 10th homer of the season in the top of the fourth. OU broke the 1-1 tie in the sixth after
Abigale Dayton singled and Pickering took a high delivery out of the park in center for a 3-1 lead.
The Sooners tacked on two more insurance runs in the seventh. After
Cydney Sanders reached and
Tia Milloy joined as a pinch runner,
Isabela Emerling hooked an RBI double to left field.
Hannah Coor singled to right, scoring pinch runner
Maya Bland for the 5-1 lead.
