Homers, Landry Lift No. 1 Softball to 8-0 Win at Missouri

March 21, 2025 | Softball

Garcia, McEnroe-Marinas and Parker Homer While Landry Spins Shutout

COLUMBIA, Mo.  — Three different Sooners homered and Sam Landry only allowed a hit in five shutout innings as No. 1 Oklahoma Softball (28-0, 7-0 SEC) defeated Missouri (17-14, 0-4 SEC), 8-0, in five innings Friday, March 21.

All eight of OU's runs came on the long ball as Gabbie Garcia and Ella Parker hit a pair of three-run home runs and Nelly McEnroe-Marinas hit her fifth homer in league play with a two-run home run.

Landry is now 8-0 and hasn't permitted a run in four consecutive appearances.

Garcia cashed in after Abigale Dayton and Nelly McEnroe-Marinas walked in front of her in the top of the first, homering to right field for a 3-0 lead in the first frame. Mizzou didn't have a baserunner reach until the third inning, but Landry worked an inning-ending groundout that Garcia gathered up the middle and got to Cydney Sanders at first to end the threat.

The Sooners tacked on the rest of the game's runs with five in the top of the fifth off the bat of McEnroe-Marinas and Parker.

Landry retired Missouri in order in the fifth, notching her second complete game in league play.
