OU and Fullerton were locked in a pitcher's duel in the first three innings until the Sooners uncorked five runs in the fourth. Ailana Agbayani walked, Isabela Emerling was hit by a pitch and Tia Milloy reached via error. Cydney Sanders smoked an RBI single up the middle, scoring Agbayani. The big blow came when Garcia roped a grand slam to right center, making it 5-0.
Cal State Fullerton got some life in the fifth inning. Alexia Lopez single to open the inning and Lulu Sanchez doubled off the top of the left field wall. Pinch hitter Nataly Lozano followed with a three-run home run to left center, cutting OU's lead to 5-3.
The Sooners immediately responded, slapping another five run inning on the scoreboard in the sixth. Abigale Dayton was hit by a pitch on a 3-2 count, Parker reached on a single and Nelly McEnroe-Marinas was plunked by another pitch. Barker, who replaced Agbayani in the previous inning, reached on a fielder's choice that brought Dayton home. Parker also crossed home as the throwing attempt to get Dayton at the plate rolled to the backstop. One pitch later, Emerling hooked a three-run home run off the foul pole in left field.
OU capped off its scoring with the help of another OU newcomer, Barker, who launched a three-run home run inside the foul pole. Parker doubled and Corri Hicks walked before Barker deposited the home run.

Coach Gasso's Comments
"I think our defense has been playing pretty well. I like what we've been doing, but a lot of that has to do with our pitching. Coach Rocha had a good plan, very similar to what we did in our championship game at the World Series where we brought in five different pitchers."
"Offensively it's been fun to see Gabbie, Cydney Sanders, Tia Milloy has been in there, Sydney Barker had a blast. We're feeling really good about it. We've been putting them through a lot. This trip has been a lot...it's been a good first weekend, and honestly I didn't know what to expect. But they fight and they work."
