Wrestling Claims Two Individual Titles, Places Second at Tiger Style Invite

November 09, 2025 | Wrestling

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The No. 18 Oklahoma wrestling team placed 15 wrestlers at the Tiger Style Invite on Sunday at the Hearnes Center, led by DJ Parker (197) and Juan Mora (285), who claimed titles in their respective brackets.

The Sooners finished second overall with 122.5 points, trailing only team champion Missouri (132.5). South Dakota State (116.5), Purdue (99) and Little Rock (30) rounded out the five-team field.

Sunday marked the first of two open tournaments on OU's schedule this season. The Sooners will next head to Las Vegas for the prestigious Cliff Keen Invitational, set for Dec. 5-6.

Parker was the first title winner to take the mat for Oklahoma, defeating South Dakota State's Thomas Dineen in the final. A quick takedown and four-point near fall gave the two-time NCAA qualifier a comfortable 7-0 lead before his opponent was forced to injury-default out of the match. The senior surrendered just four total points across three matches en route to his second career tournament title.

Immediately following Parker's victory, Mora stepped on the mat for the heavyweight final against Missouri's No. 24 Jarrett Stoner. The senior controlled the bout from start to finish, scoring three takedowns across three periods and sealing an 11-5 decision with a reversal in the final frame. Powered by a pair of technical falls, Mora outscored his opponents 52-16 on the day in just three matches.

Carter Schubert (174) and Brian Soldano (184) advanced to the finals and earned runner-up finishes in their respective brackets. Conrad Hendriksen (125) and Tyler Wells (141) added third-place results, while Layton Schneider (149), Owen Eck (165) and Ricky Thomas (285) each placed fourth. Alex Braun (141) and Anthony Harris (197) finished fifth, with Kaden Smith (133), Rafael Hipolito Jr. (157) and Anders Thompson (184) rounded out the Sooner podium finishers in sixth.
