Tate Sandell was named SEC Special Teams Player of the Week after OU's 44-0 win over Kent State on Saturday at Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium, the conference office announced Monday.
Sandell was 3 for 3 on field goal attempts Saturday, with makes from 49, 39 and 55 yards. His 55-yard field goal was a personal career long, tied for the seventh longest in school history and tied for OU's fourth-longest at Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. Sandell also converted all five of his PAT tries. The Port Neches, Texas, product is 9 for 10 on field goals and 18 for 18 on PATs this season. He has made nine consecutive field goal attempts.
This is Sandell's first career SEC weekly award and OU's fifth of the season. Senior defensive lineman

Tory Blaylock was named SEC Freshman of the Week on Sept. 15 (vs. Temple).
No. 6/6 Oklahoma (5-0, 1-0) travels to Dallas to face No. RV/19 Texas (3-2, 0-1 SEC) on Saturday in the Allstate Red River Rivalry at Cotton Bowl Stadium. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. on ABC.
