NORMAN - The No. 21 Oklahoma men's tennis team improved their season record to 11-2 after picking up a win over Drake on Tuesday evening.

The Sooners got off to a strong start after taking the doubles point with wins at the one and three lines. Fifth-year senior duo Alex Martinez and Baptiste Anselmo took down the No. 61 ranked pair of Oliver Johansson and Matija Matic at the one line, only dropping one game in the set. Freshman pair Hank Trondson and Asahi Harazaki were soon to follow with a win on the third court to claim the doubles point for the Sooners. When doubles play was stalled, fifth-year senior Mark Mandlik and junior Jordan Hasson were ahead of the Bulldogs, 4-3.

All six Sooners gained first-set wins to put them ahead of the Bulldogs.

No. 47 Martinez was first to put a singles point on the board for the Sooners after he topped Drake's Jeremy Schifris, 6-1, 6-1. Harazaki was quick to follow with a win at the six position, 6-2, 6-0.

Freshman Kholo Montsi clinched the match for the Sooners at the two position, taking a straight-set win, 6-3, 6-3.

When play stalled, fifth-year senior Justin Schlageter was close to concluding his match, as he was ahead 6-4, 5-4. Hasson was ahead 6-4, 4-1 and sophomore Luis Alvarez was in the second set, 6-4, 1-2.

Oklahoma travels to Murfreesboro, Tennessee to face Middle Tennessee State on Friday, March 15 at 5 p.m. CT.
