Men's Tennis Inks Vojtech Petr for 2024-2025 Season

NORMAN - Head coach Nick Crowell announced the addition of Vojtech Petr to the Oklahoma men's tennis team for the 2024-2025 season.
Petr, a three-time singles national champion in his native Czech Republic, has a career high ranking of No. 34 in the ITF Juniors and is currently a 13.06 UTR rating. He has competed in three junior Grand Slams at the Australian Open, French Open and Wimbledon. Petr has also been ranked on the ATP tour where he holds a career high ranking of 1213 after a semifinal appearance at Sharm El Sheikh in November 2022.
"We could not be more excited to officially announce the signing of Vojtech Petr," Crowell said. "He has been one of the best juniors in the world for some time now and has excelled throughout his career in the junior Grand Slams and the ITF Futures tours. We are excited to help him reach his goals and develop as a player and person."
The Czech Republic native holds three singles ITF Juniors titles, three doubles ITF Juniors titles and was the U14 European singles champion.
"He plays a physical style of tennis and embodies the character traits we are looking for in our Sooners," Crowell continued. "We can't wait to get started in August!"
"I chose Oklahoma because I believe it's the perfect place to have a chance to be a professional player and develop on the court," Petr said. "I think there are great people at Oklahoma which will help me to be a good player and person."
