OPENING TIP

•  Sunday's game will precede OU's women's basketball game against New Mexico State, which will tip at 4 p.m. Fans who have purchased a ticket to either game can attend both games. Oklahoma is one of three schools nationally (Duke and UConn) to boasts both men's and women's teams ranked in the top 15 of the AP poll (the women are ranked ninth). The teams' 21-1 combined record is second only to Tennessee's 23-0 mark.

•  At 12-0, Oklahoma is one of just four undefeated teams nationally. Fellow SEC members Florida and Tennessee are also each 12-0, while Drake is 11-0.

•  The Sooners are 2-0 all-time against Prairie View A&M, winning both previous meetings in Norman (75-63 in 2002-03 and 83-56 in 2003-04).

•  An OU win on Sunday would improve the Sooners' record to 13-0 for the first time since the 1987-88 season. OU has started a season 13-0 or better on three previous occasions: 1927-28 (18-0, undefeated season), 1985-86 (17-0) and 1987-88 (14-0).

•  Eight of the Sooners' 12 wins have been by at least 15 points. They have also won one game by one point, one by two points and two by five points.

•  This is the second straight season OU has started 10-0 or better under head coach Porter Moser. It is the first time in program history the Sooners have won at least 10 games to start a campaign in back-to-back years.

•  OU has used the same starting lineup in each of the last nine games (guards Kobe Elvis, Jeremiah Fears and Duke Miles, and forwards Jalon Moore and Sam Godwin).

UNCHARTED TERRITORY

•  This is the second straight season OU has started 10-0 or better under head coach Porter Moser. It is the first time in program history the Sooners have won at least 10 games to start a campaign in back-to-back years.

PICK YOUR POISON

•  Five Sooners have scored 20 or more points in at least one game this season: Jalon Moore (six times), Jeremiah Fears (four times), Kobe Elvis (twice) and Sam Godwin and Duke Miles (once each).

CASHING IN AT THE LINE

•  The Sooners rank 10th in the country and lead the SEC with their 80.6 free throw percentage on the season. That figure would shatter the school record of 76.7% set by the 2001-02 Final Four team.

NO GOOD LOOKS

•  Oklahoma ranks seventh nationally and second in the 16-team SEC in 3-point field goal percentage defense, allowing opponents to shoot just 27.2% from behind the arc. The OU single-season record for 3-point field goal percentage defense is 29.2% in 2004-05.

FEARS ON FIRE

•  Point guard Jeremiah Fears leads OU and ranks fifth in the SEC with his 18.0 points per game. He is the first OU freshman to score in double figures in each of his first 11 games since point guard Trae Young in 2017-18. Fears, who has already been named SEC Freshman of the Week twice this season, is also averaging 3.4 rebounds and team highs of 4.7 assists and 2.2 steals per outing. He ranks sixth in the SEC by shooting 86.7% from the free throw line, a team best.

THRILLING FINISH AT JUMPMAN INVITATIONAL

• OU won a thriller in the third annual Jumpman Invitational on Wednesday, Dec. 18 in Charlotte, N.C., beating No. 24/21 Michigan 87-86 as freshman Jeremiah Fears converted a 4-point play with 11.5 seconds left for the game's final points. Fears finished with a season-high 30 points as the Sooners came back from 11 points down in the second half.

UP NEXT

Oklahoma plays its first-ever intraleague game as a member of the SEC when it travels to face No. 5/6 Alabama on Saturday, Jan. 4 at 5 p.m. CT.
