Wrestling Inks Four in 2025 Recruiting Class

NORMAN – Oklahoma wrestling head coach Roger Kish announced the signing of four wrestlers in the 2025 recruiting class on Friday.
 
The Sooners' recruiting class is ranked No. 10 nationally by FloWrestling and includes four incoming freshmen ranked in MatScouts' Senior Big Board which charts the top 250 recruits in the country.
 
Making up Kish's second full recruiting class at OU are Bryce Burkett (Watertown, Minn.), Sebastian Degennaro (Port Lucie, Fla.), Anthony Harris Jr. (Sparta, N.J.) and Trae Rios (Oklahoma City, Okla.).

BRYCE BURKETT / WATERTOWN-MAYER HIGH SCHOOL / WATERTOWN, MINN. / 174/184 POUNDS

  • Ranked as the No. 197 overall prospect nationally by MatScouts 
  • 2024 MSHL 174-pound champion and four-time state placewinner  
  • Finished junior season with a 54-0 record, setting school records in pins (38) and takedowns (184) 
  • 2023-24 Herald Journal All-Aerea Wrestler of The Year 
  • 2022 Fargo double national finalist, winning the 16U Greco-Roman title at 170 pounds and finishing as runner-up in freestyle.

  • Ranked as the No. 92 overall prospect nationally by MatScouts and No. 9 recruit at 126 pounds by FloWrestling 
  • Three-time FHSAA state champion 
  • Three-time TCPalm Winter All-Area Wrestler of the Year. 
  • 2023 NHSCA High School Nationals 120-pound champion 
  • 2022-23 Lawrence Journal-World All-Area First Team
  • 2023 Fargo Junior Nationals Freestyle qualifier

  • Ranked as the No. 34 overall prospect nationally by MatScouts and No. 7 recruit at 215 pounds by FloWrestling. 
  • 2024 Fargo Junior Nationals Freestyle runner-up at 215 pounds 
  • 2023 NJSIAA state runner-up at 190 pounds 
  • 2023 Super 32 National Champion 
  • 2022 Beast of the East third-place finish

  • Ranked as the No. 184 overall prospect nationally by MatScouts  
  • Three-time OSSAA 6A state qualifier and two-time placewinner 
  • No. 2 ranked 6A 150-pound wrestler in Oklahoma according to OWrestle 
  • 2024 Southern Plains, USAW Western Regional and Fall Brawl tournament runner-up 
  • 2023 KC Stampede champion at 150 pounds
