NORMAN – The Oklahoma volleyball team dropped a three-set match to Texas A&M, 21-25, 18-25, 13-25, Wednesday night inside McCasland Field House.
Alexis Shelton led all players with 12 kills on the night. The junior also tallied four digs ad two blocks, along with one assist.
Kamille Gibson also found herself in double-digits with 11 kills on a .300 clip.
Payton Chamberlain notched 28 assists while libero
Callie Kemohah recorded six digs to lead the team.
The Sooners fell behind 18-11 in the first set but battled to pull within four at 23-19. OU fought off three set points, before dropping the set 25-21.
In the second, the Sooners kept it close to start as
Lydia Martyn came up with a clutch kill to tie the match at 11-11. OU continued to stay within striking distance before a 7-3 run by the Aggies finished the set, 25-18. In the final set, OU struggled to find an offensive rhythm, dropping the set 25-13.
The Sooners will have the weekend off, before returning to the court for the second edition of the Red River Rivalry. OU and Texas will take to the court on Friday, Nov. 22, at 6 p.m. CT inside McCasland Field House.
