NORMAN — Oklahoma Baseball will play four exhibitions at L. Dale Mitchell Park this fall in preparation for the 2025 season.

The Sooners open fall ball with a 14-inning contest vs. McLennan College on Friday, Oct. 25 at 5:30 p.m. CT before competing in three intrasquad scrimmages, the program's traditional 'Fall World Series' with the team split into two rosters. The intrasquads will be held Friday, Nov. 1 at 5 p.m. CT, Monday, Nov. 4 and Wednesday, Nov. 6 with tenative game times of 5 and 3 p.m. CT, respectively.

All four fall exhibitions will be free admission to the public and concessions and restrooms will be available. No live streams will be available, but fans can stay up to date below and by following the Sooners on Twitter/X and Instagram (@OU_Baseball) and like Oklahoma Baseball on Facebook.

The 2025 Sooners return 13 student-athletes from a season ago, including NCBWA All-American Easton Carmichael and All-Big 12 honorees Scott MudlerJaxon Willits and Kyson Witherspoon. The team welcomes 32 newcomers, including 16 transfers, this fall.

The program recently announced its 2025 schedule, including its conference slate for OU's inaugural season in the SEC. The conference schedule features five home series at L. Dale Mitchell Park, hosting Mississippi State, LSU, Vanderbilt, Ole Miss and Texas. Season tickets for the 2025 season are on sale now. The Sooners won the Big 12 regular season title in 2024, finishing 40-21 overall. The season was highlighted by a conference-record six series sweeps and No. 9 seed in the NCAA tournament. OU hosted an NCAA regional in Norman for the first time since 2010 and won 40 games for the second time in three years.

The Sooners opened the fall with a bang, beating McLennan College 11-2 in 14 innings of exhibition work. The score was 9-0 OU after nine. 

Head coach Skip Johnson's pitching staff had a dominant debut, striking out a combined 21 batters in 14 innings (16 K in 9 innings) to just two walks and two runs allowed, with 15 pitchers seeing action. Returners Kyson Witherspoon and Malachi Witherspoon each got one of the first three innings and struck out a pair a piece. Junior left-handed transfer Cade Crossland struck out a pair in the second and fellow lefty transfer Cameron Johnson impressed in his first appearance, fanning two in the fourth.

At the plate, sophomore leadoff hitter Jason Walk got the offense started with a leadoff double in the first and OU never looked back. The centerfielder finished 2-for-4 in nine innings of action with an RBI. The Sooners showed plenty of speed on the base path, swiping five bags on the night. Freshman Kyle Branch got the start at second base and impressed, finishing 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Sophomore outfielder Dasan Harris provided a spark as well with a triple and three RBIs. Behind the plate, both Sooner returning catchers Easton Carmichael and Scott Mudler threw out runners attempting to steal. 

Fall World Series Game One (Cream 3, Crimson 2 [7 innings])

The Sooners split into two rosters, Crimson & Cream, for their annual Fall World Series and the Cream squad (wearing gray tops with white pinstripe pants) took the first of the three-game series by a final of 3-2. The winning team was powered by three-run first inning, highlighted by a two-run double off the bat of catcher Scott Mudler. The pitching staff of Malachi Witherspoon (W), Jason Bodin, Reid Hensley and Dylan Crooks (S) combined to hold their fellow Sooners on the other side to just two runs on six hits. 

The teams return to action Monday, Nov. 4, for Game 2 of the Fall World Series at 5 p.m. CT. Admission is free. 

Fall World Series Game Two (Cream 2, Crimson 1 [7 innings])

The Cream squad took Game 2 of the Fall World Series by a final of 2-1 in seven innings. With the win, the team clinched the Fall World Series crown with one game to be played. The pitchers once again stole the show, with eight seeing action on the mound, highlighted by starting sophomore pitchers Jacob Gholston and Cameron Johnson. 

The game's scoring came in the first and last innings, with RBIs from freshman Drew Dickerson for Cream and sophomore Gavyn Jones for Crimson in the first inning. Junior Dayton Tockey hit the go-ahead RBI double at the top of the seventh before freshman lefty Jaden Barfield slammed the door in the bottom half to give the Cream squad the series victory. 

The teams will conclude fall competition Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 3 p.m. CT with the third and final game of the Fall World Series at L. Dale Mitchell Park.  

Fall World Series Game Three (Crimson 2, Cream 1 [7 innings])

In the fall ball finale, junior All-American Easton Carmichael stole the show with a walk-off solo blast to left field to give the Crimson team the Game 3 win, 2-1. 

Carmichael went 2-for-2 in the seven-inning exhibition and batted in both runs for Team Crimson. For the Cream squad, sophomore Dasan Harris tied the game at 1-1 in the sixth inning with an RBI single, capping his 2-for-3 day at the plate. On the mound, 10 Sooner pitchers saw work across both teams with senior Grant Stevens and freshman Jordan Stripling getting the starts. 

After dropping the first two contests to Cream, the Crimson team salvaged the three-game set with a Game 3 victory to cap the fall.
