"I think it was the first time that we were behind this season and they didn't give up, they kept pushing their way forward and it wasn't easy," head coach K.J. Kindler said. "There's a lot of little things and details I think we left out today overall. For us the lesson was, we fight back, you keep fighting, you don't give up no matter what."
OU responded in a big way on bars with a 49.600, highlighted by near perfection in the anchor spot from Bowers. Bowers showed off a stuck dismount to push the Sooners ahead of Denver by .025, 98.775-98.750.

"Going to beam, only .025 ahead, that's a tough position to be in to go to that event," Kindler said. "I was really proud of how they kept their heads bowed down and kept pushing forward on that. They didn't hedge at all so that, that was very positive."
