NORMAN — Oklahoma wide receiver
Marvin Mims Jr. and offensive tackle
Wanya Morris were selected on day two of the NFL Draft on Friday in Kansas City, Mo. Mims was the No. 32 selection in the second round (63rd overall) by the Denver Broncos and Morris was taken with the No. 29 pick in the third round (92nd overall) by the reigning Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs.
The Sooners and TCU are tied for the Big 12 Conference lead with three picks each through the first three rounds. Mims, the eighth receiver taken in this year's draft, and Morris joined offensive lineman and first-round selection
Anton Harrison as Sooners to be selected on Thursday and Friday.
Mims became OU's 10th wide receiver NFL Draft pick in the last 12 years, with five of those 10 being selected in the first or second round (CeeDee Lamb, first round in 2020; Marquise Brown, first round in 2019; Sterling Shepard, second round in 2016; Ryan Broyles, second round in 2012).
The 5-11, 183-pound Mims played in 37 career games and made 24 starts as a collegian, leading the Sooners in receiving yards in each of his three seasons. He finished his career with 123 receptions for 2,398 yards and 20 touchdowns, averaging an eye-popping 19.5 yards per catch. His 16.0-yard punt return average (160 yards on 10 returns) would have ranked second nationally if he met the NCAA's minimum requirement of 1.2 punt returns per game to qualify in the category.
A 2021 honorable mention All-Big pick by the conference's coaches, Mims started 11 of his 13 games and caught 32 passes for 705 yards and five touchdowns. He ranked fourth nationally and led the Big 12 with his 22.0 yards per catch and logged three 100-yard receiving games, including a five-catch, 136-yard, two-TD effort in a comeback win against Texas.

He also earned freshman All-America honors from The Athletic and ESPN, and was a second-team All-Big 12 pick by the league's coaches and media after playing in all 11 games and making one start.
