As the 2026 season kicks off, several Sooners are gaining national recognition on college football's most prestigious watch lists. From individual excellence to team leadership, these honors highlight the best in the game and Oklahoma is well represented. Chuck Bednarik Award: Presented annually to the defensive player of the year in college football as judged by the Maxwell Football Club
Biletnikoff Award: Given each year to the top pass receiver in college football
Butkus Award: Presented to the nation's best linebacker by the Butkus Foundation
Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award: Given annually to the top offensive player in DI football who also exhibits the enduring characteristics that define Earl Campbell: integrity, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, drive, community and tenacity
Lou Groza Award: Presented to the nation's top place-kicker by the Palm Beach County Sports Commission
Davey O'Brien Award: Presented to the nation's best quarterback by the Davey O'Brien Foundation
Ray Guy Award: Presented to the college punter of the year by the Augusta (Ga.) Sports Council
Paul Hornung Award: Given each year to the most versatile player in major college football
Lombardi Award: Presented to outstanding linemen and linebackers who best epitomize Vince Lombardi's values of leadership, courage, performance, and discipline on and off the field
Patrick Mannelly Award: Award given annually to the best college football long snapper
Maxwell Award: Presented to the college player of the year by the Maxwell Football Club
Outland Trophy: Presented to the Nation's Best Interior Lineman
Polynesian College Football Player of the Year: Presented annually to the most outstanding college football player of Polynesian ancestry who exemplifies exceptional ability and integrity both on and off the field
Rimington Trophy: Presented to the most outstanding center
Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award: Presented annually by the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Educational Foundation, Inc. and A.O. Smith Corporation to the nation's top quarterback who best exemplifies character, scholastic and athletic achievement
