OU Hosts DBU in Midweek Tilt

First Pitch

• Oklahoma (13-7) plays host to Dallas Baptist (13-7) in a midweek contest at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at L. Dale Mitchell Park. 
• The Sooners have won 11 of their last 14 games, including a Big 12 conference series win over then-No. 11 TCU last weekend. The Patriots won their Conference USA series over FIU this weekend, and have won six of their last eight.
• OU is on the road this weekend for a Big 12 conference series against Kansas State in Manhattan, Kan. Game times for that set are 6 p.m. Friday, 4 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday
• Oklahoma is celebrating its 125th anniversary season in 2023. The program was established in 1898, and OU has competed in 118 seasons since (including 2023).

• Tickets are available via SoonerSports.com. Mini plans and flex packages are available for all remaining home games. 
• The L. Dale Mitchell Park ticket office and entrance gates will open two hours prior to the scheduled game time. The ticket office and will call windows are located behind home plate, along W. Imhoff Rd.
• Fans can take advantage of $2 Tuesday concessions pricing with $2 hot dogs, popcorn and 12 oz. beer.

• The game will be televised via SoonerVision on ESPN+ with Chad McKee, George Frazier and Carly Murray calling the action.

Leading Off

• Oklahoma is in its sixth season under the direction of head coach Skip Johnson (including the 2020 season that was shortened due to the COVID-19 pandemic). Johnson, who spent the 2017 season on staff as an assistant coach, has led the Sooners to a 168-110 record, two NCAA Tournament appearances, the 2022 Big 12 tournament championship and the 2022 College World Series finals since taking over as head coach prior to the 2018 season.
• Junior shortstop Dakota Harris was named Big 12 Co-Newcomer of the Week on Monday after batting .500 (5 for 10) with five RBIs, a home run, a double and three walks in Oklahoma's series win over TCU. In four games last week, he batted .385 with four walks and played errorless in the field.
• Through 20 games, Harris leads the Sooners with 27 RBIs and 10 extra base hits (six doubles and four homers), and is batting .386 (32 for 83). Freshman catcher Easton Carmichael leads the team with a .395 batting average (30 for 76) and has 25 RBIs and nine extra base hits (team-high four triples). He leads the Big 12, is tied for fifth nationally and leads all catchers with his four triples. 
• Junior first baseman Anthony Mackenzie is batting .392 (31 for 79), and leads the team with 20 runs scored and 13 steals (13 for 14). Freshman first baseman Rocco Garza-Gongora is hitting .351 (20 for 57) with three homers, 13 RBIs and 12 runs. Junior right fielder Bryce Madron has registered 32 walks in the season's first 20 games and has scored 17 runs.
• Oklahoma is batting .290 and averaging 7.0 runs, 9.5 hits, 2.8 extra base hits, 6.3 walks and 2.6 stolen bases per game, and has a 4.62 team ERA. OU opponents have batted .248 and averaged 5.3 runs, 8.5 hits, 2.8 extra base hits, 4.1 walks and 7.3 strikeouts per contest. 
• The Patriots are batting .291 and averaging 7.8 runs, 9.7 hits, 3.6 extra base hits and 5.3 walks per game and have a 4.08 team ERA. DBU opponents have batted .235 and averaged 4.6 runs, 7.7 hits, 2.8 extra base hits, 4.4 walks and 11.8 strikeouts per contest.

Series History

• Oklahoma leads the all-time series against Dallas Baptist, 26-15.
• The Sooners are 22-7 vs. DBU in Norman, and have won five straight at home in the series. OU won 8-7 last season in Norman and the Patriots won 10-1 in Dallas.
• OU won 21 of the first 23 meetings between the programs (1978-2010). DBU won eight in a row between 2011-15.
• Since 2016, OU and DBU have won each meeting in their own metro area (tied, 5-5).
