NORMAN - The No. 15 Oklahoma women's tennis team will head back to the ITA National Indoor Championships for the second time in program history, Feb. 10-13 in Seattle, Wash., at the Nordstrom Tennis Center.
The Sooners face No. 4 Duke at 2 p.m. CT in the first round. Should OU advance, the Sooners will face the winner of No. 5-seeded Stanford and Georgia in the quarterfinals on Saturday at 11 a.m. CT.
There will be a consolation bracket if needed.
The squad met Duke twice in 2022, the first being at ITA Kickoff Weekend in Durham, N.C. OU prevailed over the No. 6 Blue Devils 4-2 for their highest program win, at the time, and punched its ticket to ITA National Indoors for the first time ever. Oklahoma met No. 3 Duke again in the semifinals of the NCAA tournament, taking the match in a 4-3 thriller to send them to the national championship.
The Sooners last met Stanford in the Sweet Sixteen of the 2022 NCAA tournament, hosting the Cardinal and defeating them 4-1. The victory sent OU to Champaign, Ill., and entered them into the Elite Eight.
Georgia has met OU in only two outings, the last being in 1984 where the Bulldogs came out victorious in a 5-1 win.
OU hosted ITA Kickoff Weekend for the first time in program history and defeated Minnesota 4-0 to advance to the championship match. The Sooners then swept Texas Tech 4-0 to earn their spot in the tournament for back-to-back years.
First serve against Duke is set for 2 p.m. CT on Friday.
