RALEIGH, N.C. - The No. 15 Oklahoma women's tennis fell to No. 10 NC State, 6-1, in Raleigh, N.C., on Saturday.
NC State claimed the first court at the top with Diana Shnaider and Alana Smith prevailing over Carmen and Ivana Corley, 6-2. Oklahoma answered with Julia Garcia Ruiz and Dana Guzman grabbing court three, 6-2, over Amelia Rajecki and Anna Zyryanova. No. 22 Alexandra Pisareva and Layne Sleeth clinched the doubles point against No. 60 Sophie Abrams and Abigail Rencheli, 6-3, at court two.
The Wolfpack claimed all six singles courts. Layne Sleeth fell 6-4, 6-0 to Diana Shnaider at the top court and No. 13 Alana Smith took court two over No. 91 Carmen Corley, 6-1, 6-3. NC State then went on to take the next four points. No. 23 Rajecki prevailed over Guzman, 6-1, 6-4, 6-3, at court three. Emma Staker took it to a third set, but ultimately fell to No. 25 Rencheli, 3-6, 6-2, 6-3. At the No. 5 spot, Garcia Ruiz came up short in her match vs. No. 97 Abrams, 6-0, 6-3, at court five. Closing out the match, Gina Dittmann took court six over No. 86 Pisareva, 6-3, 6-4.
