• Oklahoma improved to 8-0 with its victory over Providence marking the first season since the 2015-16 Final Four campaign OU remained perfect through the first eight games. In the previous 20 seasons, the Sooners have won their first eight games three times (2008-09, 2015-16 & 2023-24). OU finished the 2008-09 campaign 30-6 and advanced to the Elite Eight.
