NORMAN – The University of Oklahoma men's and women's cross country teams are prepped to race at the Big XII Conference Championship in Ames, Iowa on Saturday.
The OU men will run an 8K at 10 a.m. and the women will run a 6K at 11 a.m. Oklahoma will feature seven runners on both the men's and women's sides.
The Sooners last competed at the Arturo Barrios Invitational in College Station, Texas, on Friday, Oct. 13. The men's squad recorded 16th place in the 8K and the women's team registered 25th place in the 6K. Twelve runners earned new personal records at the meet.
Redshirt senior
Nicholas Young earned the men's top finish, grabbing 36th place with a personal-best 24:04.1 time. Sophomore
Erin O'Brien secured the women's top finish, placing 102nd with a personal-best time of 21:10.1.
