NORMAN – Fresh off its 93-69 victory over then-No. 2/2 Alabama on Saturday night, the Oklahoma men's basketball teams hosts Oklahoma State on Wednesday, Feb. 1 for Bedlam. Tip is scheduled for 8 p.m. CT inside Lloyd Noble Center.
Wednesdays game against the Cowboys will be broadcast on ESPN2 with Mark Neely and Fran Fraschilla on the call. Fans may also listen on the Sooner Sports Radio Network (KRXO 107.7 FM The Franchise in Oklahoma City; KTBZ 1430 AM in Tulsa; Varsity Radio App) with Toby Rowland and Kevin Henry announcing.
In Oklahoma's upset victory over No. 2/2 Alabama, Grant Sherfield led the Sooners with a season-high 30 points on 11-of-20 shooting. Jalen Hill added a career-best 26 points and eight boards. Tanner Groves pitched in 14 points and wrangled 12 rebounds. OU entered the break with a 17-point advantage and outscored the visiting Tide by 13 points in the final 20 minutes.

SCOUTING THE COWBOYS
Mike Boynton has compiled a 99-82 record in six seasons at Oklahoma State. Boynton has led OSU to a 12-9 overall record and 3-5 mark in Big 12 play this season. In their last outing, the Cowboys beat Ole Miss 82-60 in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge and improved to 7-3 in the midseason event.
Kalib Boone boasts a team-high 11.3 points per game and leads a trio of double-digit scorers. Boone adds 5.2 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per outing. Bryce Thompson adds 11.1 points and 2.3 assists per contest and Avery Anderson III averages 11.0 points, 3.4 assists and 3.6 rebounds per game. Boone, Thompson, Anderson III and John-Michael Wright have started all 21 games this season.
Oklahoma State is ranked in the top 60 in four NCAA DI categories. OSU is fifth in field goal percentage defense (37.9%), 10th in blocks per game (5.6 BPG), 26th in 3-point percentage defense (29.8%) and 29th in scoring defense (63.1 PPG). Moussa Cisse leads the conference in blocks (40), blocks per game (2.4 BPG) and rebounds per game (8.6 RPG).

Oklahoma earned a dominate 93-69 victory over then-No. 2/2 Alabama on Saturday, Jan. 28 and helped the Big 12 top the SEC 7-3 in the Challenge. The last time the Tide played the Sooners in the midseason event, Oklahoma earned the 66-61 victory over then-No. 9 Alabama during the 2020-21 season.
Grant Sherfield paced the Sooners with 30 points on 11-of-20 shooting. The senior sharpshooter finished 4 for 5 from deep. Jalen Hill scored a career-high 26 points on 9-of-11 shooting and added eight rebounds. Tanner Groves tallied his fourth double-double of the season and finished with 14 points and 12 boards.
The victory was OU's first win over an AP top two teams since the Sooners knocked off No. 1 Kansas in the 2002 Big 12 Tournament. The 24-point victory margin was the largest in program history against an AP top-five team and it was the third largest victory margin by an unranked team against an AP top two team.
THE SEC/BIG 12 CHALLENGE
The Sooners are 7-3 in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge and have wins over Alabama (twice), LSU, Mississippi State, Missouri, Texas A&M and Vanderbilt. OU has faced the Crimson Tide three times in the Challenge and earned the 93-69 victory against then-No. 2/2 Tide on Saturday, Jan. 28.

Tanner Groves ranks 41st in the nation in defensive rebounds per game (6.4) and is second in the conference. Jalen Hill is 24th in free throw percentage (88.5%) and leads the Big 12. Grant Sherfield is 37th (87.0%) in free throw percentage and ranks second in the league. The Fort Worth, Texas product is fourth in the Big 12 in field goal attempts (277), field goals (120) and minutes per game (33:30) and he is fifth in points (358), points per game (17.0) and 3-pointers made (51).
Sherfield is 23rd among active NCAA Division I career leaders in scoring average (15.4), 24th in assist average (4.7), 27th in assists (495) and 29th in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.87). Sherfield is one of 33 active DI players with 1,500-plus points and 350 plus assists.
