Sooners Host ITA Kickoff Weekend For First Time In Program History

NORMAN - The No. 17 Oklahoma women's tennis team is set to host ITA Kickoff Weekend for the first time in program history, beginning Saturday. OU will welcome Minnesota, Texas Tech and Tulsa to the Headington Family Tennis Center.

MATCHDAY BASICS

The squad will face Minnesota in the first round on Saturday at 3 p.m. CT, while Texas Tech and Tulsa will compete on the other side of the bracket.

The winners of Saturday's matches will compete Sunday in the championship match at 2 p.m., with the winner punching its ticket to the ITA National Indoor Championships set for Feb. 10-12 in Seattle, Wash. The remaining teams will play a consolation contest Sunday at 10 a.m. CT

The Sooners' 2023 matches at the Headington Family Tennis Center will be open to the public and free of charge. Due to the elimination of concessions, fans are encouraged to bring their own food and drinks. Free pizza will be provided to the first 100 fans at both OU matches. Sunday's match will feature a TV and OU tennis apparel giveaway. Oklahoma also follows a clear bag policy.

UP NEXT

The Sooners will hit the road to face NC State in Raleigh, N.C., on Feb. 4 at 11 a.m. CT.
